How we keep your stuff safe
Three layers live today, and one more on the way, so only you can prove an item is yours.
GoTaggle combines a hash-chained history in the database, an activation PIN and private questions. Each layer works on its own, but together they make impersonating an owner very hard.
Layer 1
Cryptographic hash chain in DB
Every activation, transfer and report leaves a hash chained to the previous one. The log is append-only: deleting or rewriting an event breaks the chain and is immediately visible.
Layer 2
Activation PIN
Every tag ships with a separately printed PIN. Without it nobody can link the tag to their account, even with the tag in hand. PINs are stored hashed (bcrypt), never in plain text.
Layer 3
Private security questions
Opt-in, configured by the owner. Only whoever created them knows the exact answers — neither support nor our systems can read them in clear text.

Coming soon: NTAG 424 DNA anti-cloning chip
We're preparing premium tags with an NTAG 424 DNA chip, which produces a different signature on every read to detect copies. Today every tag is NFC NTAG 213 + QR.
